Perdue Farms, a leading US manufacturer of poultry products, has announced that it is investing $42 million to increase production capacity at its facility in Houston County, GA.
The firm, which markets a range of retail products under brands such as Perdue, Simply Smart and Harvestland, said the investment would be used to install a third cooking line to occupy 30,000 sq ft and create 125 new jobs.
Commenting on the launch, Perdue Farms CEO Randy Day said: “This expansion will help us meet the growing demand for no-antibiotics-ever and organic products, and maintain the high level of customer service and reliability our customers in Georgia and across the country expect from Perdue”.
Perdue Farms’ Houston County site was acquired by the company in 2004 and manufactures a variety of frozen, cooked chicken products for consumers and foodservice customers.
