Lindt & Sprungli, the global chocolate firm, has unveiled plans to enhance its production site in Stratham, NH, USA via a 200 million CHF ($202 million) investment.
Announcing the move alongside its financial results for the first half of 2018, the Swiss firm said that the money would be invested in the construction of new high-tech production lines for cocoa and chocolate mass within the next three to four years “to support Lindt & Sprungli’s expansion plan in North America “.
The firm said it had achieved organic growth of 4.0% in the NAFTA region in the first six months of the year, in particular seeing “excellent results” in Canada and the USA.
The upgrade in North America follows on from Lindt & Sprungli’s 30 million CHF ($30 million) investment in cocoa mass production at a site in Olten, Switzerland, announced earlier in the year.
