Land O’Lakes, a Minnesota-based farmer-owned food and agricultural cooperative, has announced the acquisition of Vermont Creamery, a producer of dairy products. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
“As we experience unprecedented growth, we need a partner who can bring the resources and expertise necessary to help us realize our vision and the potential of our business”, commented Vermont Creamery co-founder Allison Hooper.
Vermont Creamery will become an independently operated subsidiary of Land O’Lakes post acquisition. It will continue to produce fresh and aged goat cheeses, cultured butter and fresh dairy at the creamery in Vermont, according to Land O’Lakes
Land O’Lake is one of the largest cooperatives in the USA, operating in every state and internationally in more than 60 countries.
