US-based poultry firm GNP is to launch Gold’n Plump Shakers, a new kit that is said to offer a three-step approach to preparing chicken breast strips.
Available in five different flavour alternatives – Savoury, Sweet Chilli, Jamaican, Honey Barbecue and Chipotle Adob – the kits come as a resealable bag which contains the chicken and a sachet with seasoned breadcrumbs. Information on the packaging instructs consumers to pour the sachet of seasoning and breadcrumbs into the bag over the raw chicken, then closed and shaken for a meal option that is said to be ready in fewer than 20 minutes.
“The value-added meat category continues to grow as nearly half of consumers, particularly millennials, plan last-minute meals”, said Tracy Miller, Gold’n Plump director of product innovation & management. “Fresh, ready-to-cook chicken products offer more preparation involvement with very little extra work, plus superior quality and flavour compared to similar frozen products”.
Available from September, Gold’n Plump Shakers have an RRP of $5.99 per 20oz kit.
