Confectionery firm Ferrero North America has announced plans to open a 45,000 sq ft Innovation Centre with Strategic R&D Lab in Chicago’s Marshall Field and Company Building.
This new facility will merge Ferrero’s R&D teams across the US and house employees from Ferrero’s Old Post Office location, including about 170 cross-functional teams. The Innovation Centre will represent a number of brands from the company’s portfolio including Fannie May, Nutella Cafe, Keebler and Famous Amos.
Todd Siwak, president and CBO of Ferrero North America said: “Our goal for this space is to reflect Ferrero’s unique heritage and provide an opportunity to create greater synergies among our teams. This new space will foster the collaboration, creativity and culture that Ferrero is known for around the world. I am proud of our growing footprint in Illinois and strongly believe that this innovation centre will propel our teams forward to become leaders in the sweet packaged foods category”.
In the first phase of the project, Ferrero Chicago employees will move to a temporary office space before construction is completed, which is expected to be by spring 2023.
