Enjoy Life Foods, a private snack company in the “free-from” market segment acquired by Mondelez International in 2015, has announced the opening of a new facility in the state of Indiana that is described as “North America’s largest dedicated allergy-friendly bakery”.
The Jeffersonville site is 200,000 sq ft in size and will manufacture all of the brand’s baked free-from products, including cookies, snack bars, chocolate bars, baking chocolate, baking mixes, and savoury snacks, Enjoy Life Foods said in a statement. All products made in the bakery are currently available in the US as well as a number of global markets including Canada, South Africa, Israel, Mexico, and Singapore, and will soon launch throughout Asia and Europe, the company added.
“This is a historic milestone for our company and for the allergy-friendly community as a whole”, said Enjoy Life Foods chief marketing & innovation officer Joel Warady. “With our new bakery, we have the opportunity to provide our many loyal fans with delicious free-from products they have come to know and love”.
