Alcoholic drinks giants Diageo has announced plans to open a new 360,000 sq ft manufacturing and warehousing facility in Montgomery, in the US state of Alabama.
The $415 million facility will have a multi-million case annual production capacity for Diageo’s leading beverage alcohol brands, enhancing the North America supply chain and supporting future growth for exports, the company said in a statement.
This plant, which will reportedly will be fully operational by the second half of 2025, is part of a broader program to support Diageo’s “resilience, agility and sustainability”.
Commenting on the deal, Marsha McIntosh, president of North America Supply at Diageo, said: “The new facility will not only bring our business closer to our customers and distributors in the south, but also enable our broader supply network to operate more efficiently and sustainably. This investment underscores our commitment to building greater resiliency into our supply chain across North America”.
