US e-commerce giant Amazon has added to its own brand line up of grocery products with the launch of a range of pet food under the name Wag, according to a report in CNet.
The new brand is the latest addition to Amazon’s expanding portfolio of private label brands, which currently comprises more than 70 lines across a diverse range of product categories.
The initial offering under the Wag brand is dry dog food, available in the flavour varieties of Turkey & Lentil, Beef & Lentil, Salmon & Lentil, Lamb & Lentil and Chicken & Lentil. A broader range of products is expected to be launched under the brand in due course.
The current products, which are claimed to be grain free, are presented in bags sized from 2.2kg to 13.6kg, with retail prices that range from $12.99 to $44.99.
As with some of Amazon’s other own brand lines, Wag pet food is currently only available to users of the Amazon Prime subscription service.
