US: Starbucks launches new Evolution Fresh juices with organic chia

September 12, 2014

Non-Alcoholic Drinks, North America

The Evolution Fresh brand line, part of the Starbucks group since 2011, has been expanded to include new varieties based on organic chia.

The new Cold-Pressed Organic Splendid Carrot smoothie  is said to feature carrots accented with a sweet citrus burst from orange and pineapple. Chia seed powder, cucumber, ginger and turmeric are said to combine to provide a nourishing and bright celebration of carrot. Meanwhile Cold-Pressed Organic Avocado Greens is said to have the tropical sweetness of pineapple and orange, leafy goodness from spinach, romaine and kale, cucumber for a refreshing, cool flavour, creamy avocado, and turmeric for a zesty zing. The new vegetable-based drinks are being made available in Whole Food Market stores in the US.

“We wanted to produce something different, and at the same time we want our Evolution Fresh™ juices to have a personality that stands out,” Darlene Yang, Starbuck’s brand manager said. “We want a good, assertive flavor that people will be passionate about. People come to Whole Foods expecting to find new, unique, different things and I think they’ll enjoy both of these products”.
