Little Moons, the UK maker of mochi desserts, has announced plans to open a new 50,000 sq ft production facility in Kettering in the first half of 2024, according to reports in The Manufacturer and Grocery Gazete.
The move comes after the company reportedly nearly doubled its turnover to £68.5 million into the 18 months to December 2022, thanks to expanding distribution in UK grocery retail and a growing international business. In recent times, the company has increased its footprint, in addition to creating a A$10 million business in Australia since launching there in October last year.
Other investments include growing on-the-grounds teams in Germany and France. In the latter, Little Moons is now said to be the leading mochi brand, with distribution reportedly doubling in 12 months.
