French dairy multinational Danone has expanded its Light & Free range of yoghurts in the UK with launch of two new skyr products, available in portion pots and promoted as low in sugar.
The Icelandic-style range comes in Blueberry Blast and Raspberry Razzle varieties, both available in single-serve 150g tubs. The yoghurts are described as featuring real fruit, no added sugar, 81 calories and 0% fat, while still containing 14g of protein.
Commenting on the launch, Danone Light & Free brand marketing manager Prabha Cheemalapati said: “We are incredibly proud of the rapid growth of our Light & Free range and are thrilled to bring our consumers a new product experience to enjoy! Reception of the Light & Free range has been well beyond our expectations, truly showcasing the consumer demand for products without added sugars or fat. With our new Skyr Icelandic Style Yogurt, we’re able to offer consumers a convenient and delicious way to snack, with 14g of protein in every pot, tapping into this growth area within the category”.
Danone Light & Free Skyr has a suggested retail price of £0.95 ($1.34) and is set for nationwide release in the UK at the beginning of March.
