International dairy cooperative Arla Foods is launching a version of skyr, the Icelandic style yoghurt, for the UK market.
Arla Skyr – which is fat free, low in sugar and high in protein- represents the next step in Arla’s expansion in the UK yoghurt market and forms part of the company’s to make Arla a leading household brand name in the UK over the coming years, the company said in a statement.
“This is the second big new product launch that we’ve brought to the UK market under the Arla name”, commented Stuart Ibberson, Category Director at Arla Foods UK. “Entering the yogurt category is enabling us to strengthen our position as the leading dairy company in the UK and customers and consumers can look forward to more big product news coming from Arla soon”.
Arla Skyr is available in 450g pots in three flavour variants – Simply Natural, Mixed with Strawberry or Mixed with Honey – and in 150g pots in five flavour variants – Simply Natural, Layered with Nordic Sour Cherry, Layered with Strawberry, Layered with Apple & Lingonberry and Layered with Nordic Mixed Berries.
The products will be available at an RRP of 85p ($1.25) for 150g and £1.69 ($2.48) for 450g.
