What are your expectations for this year’s Food & Drink Trends & Innovations?
We’ve been running the Food & Drink Trends & Innovations conference for 11 years now – so while the trends come and go, the goal is always simple! For our participants to come away equipped with the latest trend insights and analysis to be able to draw conclusions from their data and directly apply this to their strategies and therefore increase profitability.
This year, our team has brought together a fantastic range of seasoned speakers from retail, manufacturing and foodservice – and across every category – for a holistic day of insight-sharing presentations, and plenty of networking time for the cross-pollination of ideas!

What key trends are shaping UK food and drink in 2025?
It’s a game of two halves! We have some micro trends which are evolving a mile-a-minute such as smash burgers and whole cucumber recipes, and while we focus on some of these short-lived fads at the event, we also go into detail about how you can better equip your NPD, marketing and brand functions to adapt quickly to fickle trends.
On a macro level it is a balancing act between ensuring that FMCG brands are adapting to leading trends such as sustainability, health and UPF (ultra-processed foods) and the ever-present challenge of innovating to a budget and creating strong value propositions for shoppers.
What should innovation-focused companies do to capitalise on these trends?
Data, data, data! It is everything – from market to consumer data – we all know the golden ticket is to know what your demographic wants now and what they will spend their money on! The challenge is being able to have the time, money and resources to draw accurate conclusions. This is where we have found our event serving the food and drink community: by pooling cross-category insights, learnings and the best tactics to keep up in this market, we help our attendees gain a commercial advantage when they return to the office.
