Belgian biscuit and cake manufacturer Lotus Bakeries has announced an expansion in Thailand, where a new manufacturing plant for the Biscoff brand will be built.
According to sources, the plant is meant to provide an increase in capacity for Lotus Bakeries in the Asian region as well as improve the response times to local trends and developments and reduce transport costs.
Thailand was chosen amongst the countries in the Asian region of Lotus Bakeries’ reach due to its central location in the region and the availability of raw materials and strong industry. The plant will be built in the Chonburi province, which is a part of the so-called Eastern Economic Corridor, developed by the Thai government. The Corridor has various companies from many sectors considering investments in the region as well as good access to a nearby international port of Laem Chabang.
The project will start within the next few months and the plant is expected to be operational by 2026.
