Dutch retail conglomerate Ahold Delhaize has announced that it has reached an agreement to sell 87 stores in Romania to local supermarket chain Annabella. Annabella, which has over 30 years of history of operating in the Romanian market, has an existing network of 118 shops spread across Argeș, Brașov, Dambovița, Giurgiu, Ialomița, Olt and Valcea counties. Dutch retail conglomerate Ahold Delhaize has announced that it has completed the acquisition of Romanian supermarket Profi Rom Food (Profi) from private equity fund MidEuropa for €1.3 billion ($1.35 billion). The acquisition significantly expands Ahold Delhaize’s footprint in Romania, where the company operates nearly 1,000 stores under the Mega Image banner.
