Emmi has agreed to sell the yogurt manufacturer Trentinalatte to the Livia Group, FoodBev reports.
Emmi acquired Trentinalatte in July 2006 with the goal of creating a strong brand in the Italian yogurt category. However, as evidenced by the company’s H1 financial results, and citing “the difficult economic situation in Italy”, Emmi said that it had needed to consider new options for the Trentinalatte business.
After a thorough examination of a large number of potential buyers, it had decided to sell the company to the Livia Group, it said.
“We are delighted that, in the Livia Group, we have chosen an investor that knows how to maximise the potential of the company’s staff and location,” Emmi said in a statement. “Livia benefits from the necessary expertise to guide Trentinalatte towards a successful future”.
The value of the transaction was not disclosed.
