Sweden: Abba Seafood, Frodinge Dairy and Procordia form Orkla Foods

The merger of three of Sweden’s largest food companies – Abba Seafood, Frodinge Dairy and Procordia – has been further consolidated with the official naming of the combined business as Orkla Foods Sverige AB, Food Supply reports.

With combined revenues of approximately SEK 4.8billion and around 1500 employees, Orkla Foods will become one of Sweden’s largest food manufacturers. Brands in the Orkla stable include Abba, Felix, Kalles, Frodinge, Mrs Cheng’s, Bob, Ekstrom Risifrutti, Grandiose, Onos King Gustaf, Fun Light, Grebbestads, Brook, The Old Factory, Ejderns, Svennes, Hallo, Lucullus, Limfjord, Liva Energy and Paulus.

Our mission is to make life easier and more enjoyable for our customers through our brands and products”, commented Patrik Andersson, Orkla CEO. “Leveraging our combined size and the knowledge of our workforce we will strive to develop and strengthen our brands and improve our market share.”

Andersson continued: “Our ambitions do not stop at the internal level, however. We want to continue to grow on a sustainable and long term basis with our customers, suppliers and partners. We will invest in strong innovations and strategic relationships with our customers and suppliers to create growth.”
