Laumont, a company that produced truffles and mushrooms, has announced the construction of a new 4,000 sq. mt facility centre in Tarrega, Spain.
According to a statement released by the firm, the new facility will increase the production capacity to answer the increasing demand of the business and it will allow the production of new truffle-based products. Additionally, there will be an investment in new machinery and in the creation of a space where people can enjoy experiences related to the world of truffles.
The company is becoming a national reference in the mushroom and truffle industry and an important player on a global level, having achieved a 30% turnover growth record in the financial year of 2021.
“Training the entire industry is very important so that the different qualities and gastronomic applications of the truffle are understood. By improving this knowledge, we will be able to increase consumer satisfaction and demand for this very select product, something that will undoubtedly benefit us all”, said Jordi Serentill, Laumont’s CEO.
The new plant is expected to be operational by 2024.
