Grupo MAS, the Seville-based food distribution group, has reached an agreement to acquire the Malaga-based supermarket chain Maskom as part of its ongoing regional expansion strategy.
The deal adds 54 stores across the provinces of Malaga, Seville and Cadiz to the Grupo MAS network, which previously operated over 200 outlets under the Supermercados MAS, MAS&Go and Cash Fresh banners. Maskom, which was founded in 1978 and employs nearly 1,000 people, reported a turnover of €143 million ($156 million) for the 2025 fiscal year.
Following the integration, the combined group will have a workforce of over 5,600 employees and a total turnover approaching €900 million ($981 million).
Jerónimo Martín, CEO of Grupo MAS, commented: “Partnering with Maskom allows us to grow both in size and in values. Our goal is to become the leading supermarket in southern Spain, supporting local brands and fresh produce to build a sustainable, long-term project”.
Grupo MAS reported a turnover of €740 million ($807 million) in 2025, prior to the merger.
