Spanish-based snacks company Grupo Apex has acquired snack producer Productos Emilio Arias Lizano for an undisclosed sum.
Located in Ciudad Real, Productos Emilio Arias Lizano produces a wide range of sunflower seeds and nuts including sunflower seeds, peanuts, hazelnuts, almonds, pumpkin seeds, and others.
According to sources, sunflower seeds are a strategic snacking product for Spanish consumers and, therefore, necessary in Grupo Apex’s portfolio.
In the last ten years, the Grupo Apex has acquired seven companies, Aspil, Aspitos, Vicente Vidal, Marinas Mediterranean Crisps, Jumpers, Aitana Patatas y Snacks, Popitas, Espada, and Productos Emilio Arias Lizano, as part of the continued growth strategy of the company.
This year, the company has also announced an investment of €6 million (£5.12 million) in its eight manufacturing facilities in Spain.
