Spanish-based snacks company Grupo Apex has acquired nut and seeds producer Emilio Arias Lizano for an undisclosed sum.
Located in Ciudad Real, Productos Emilio Arias Lizano produces a wide range of nut and seed snacks including sunflower seeds, peanuts, hazelnuts, almonds and pumpkin seeds.
According to sources, Grupo Apex sees sunflower seeds as a strategic snacking product for Spanish consumers and therefore a necessary addition to its portfolio.
In the last ten years, Grupo Apex has also acquired Aspil, Aspitos, Vicente Vidal, Marinas Mediterranean Crisps, Jumpers, Aitana Patatas y Snacks, Popitas, Espada as part of the company’s continued growth strategy.
This year, the company also announced an investment of €6 million ($6.8 million) in its eight manufacturing facilities in Spain.
