CJ CheilJedDang (CJCJ), the leading South Korean food firm, has announced plans to build a new food manufacturing facility in Europe via an investments of 100 billion KRW ($72 million).
CJCJ reported that it had already secured a site for its new European K-Food factory in Dunavarsany, Hungary. The plant, covering an area of 115,000 sq m, will be equipped with state-of-the-art automated production lines, and is expected to begin producing Bibigo dumplings for the European market from the second half of 2026.
The new European plant, which the company said would serve as a gateway for expansion into Central and Eastern Europe and the Balkans, is in addition to one being built in Sioux Falls (SD) to serve the US market.
“Through proactive investment in production capabilities, we are poised to lead the globalization of K-food and establish ourselves as a true industry leader”, a CJCJ spokesperson commented.
