Portuguese firm Silvex, a manufacturer of household cleaning, plastic, paper and storage products, has unveiled a new line of plastic bags that are claimed to help wash, dry and store fruit and vegetables in an “easy, practical, quick and hygienic” way.
Featuring a newly-designed “microperforation” system, Silvex Storage Bags for Fruit and Vegetables are claimed to preserve fresh produce for longer in the refrigerator, according to reports in HiperSuper and Greensavers.
To use the bags, consumers first wash the produce directly in the bag itself, angling it to drain away excess water. The bags can then be stored in the refrigerator where, thanks to their microperforation system, fruit and vegetables are allowed to ‘breathe’, keeping produce fresher for longer, according to company claims.
Silvex Storage Bags for Fruit and Vegetables are being released in boxes of 16 units.
