Plus, the Dutch supermarket chain, has launched a same-day delivery service under the name Plus Express.
According to Plus, the service is simple to use, with consumers placing their order online as normal via plus.nl. Providing the order is placed before 4pm, they can then select a delivery slot for the same day. There is said to be a minimum two-hour period between order and delivery, such that orders placed between 8am and 10am will be delivered between 12pm and 2pm.
Once an order is received, it is processed by pickers working in the customer’s local Plus store, ready for delivery. The service is initially being made available in selected stores in Waarder, Venray, Maarn and Utrecht.
The charge for Plus Express is €8.50 ($9.44), representing a €2.50 ($2.78) premium on Plus’s regular delivery costs. Alternatively, the consumer can collect their shopping direct from the store for a price of €5.00 ($5.55).
