Multinational bakery firm Grupo Bimbo has announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Slovenian-based bakery group Don Don.
Founded in 1994, Don Don is a leading baking brand in southeast Europe, offering sliced bread, rolls and cakes under the Tvojih 5 Minut and Pekarna Grosuplje brands.
By acquiring Don Don, Grupo Bimbo will expand its footprint to 39 countries, enabling growth in Serbia, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Romania and Croatia, as well as expanded exports to Kosovo, North Macedonia, Greece and Slovakia.
Announcing its third-quarter results, the company also claimed it had completed the acquisition of Pagnifique, a Uruguayan producer of frozen bread and pastries, from Linzor Capital Partners.
The Don Don acquisition is subject to regulatory approvals.
