Emmi, the Switzerland-based dairy firm, has announced the acquisition of Pasticceria Quadrifoglio, an Italian dessert company headquartered in Piumazzo di Castelfranco Emilia for an undisclosed sum.
The integration of Pasticceria Quadrifoglio, which operates two production sites near Modena, will further expand Emmi’s production and distribution capabilities, the company said. The existing “Emmi Dessert Italia” network, which Pasticceria Quadrifoglio will join, already comprises production locations in Gattico, Pero and Lasnigo in Northern Italy.
In a press release, Emmi said it expected the acquisition to provide new impetus for the dessert network, especially in the catering sector.
Founded in 1978 by Claudio Canali, Pasticceria Quadrifoglio markets a range of dessert products, including its distinctive Sorbissimo “drinkable sorbet”. It also manufactures a range of chilled desserts under the Mia Pasticceria brand. The firm’s net sales were €19 million ($21 million) in 2018.
