German household and personal care giant Henkel has announced the merger of its Laundry & Home Care and Beauty Care businesses into one unit, in a press release reporting its annual results and growth agenda.
According to Henkel, the new Henkel Consumer Brands business unit will create a ‘multi-category platform’ for the consumer business under one roof.
The integration is said to have already started, by having talks with employee representatives and defining and communicating the organizational structure internally. Operating in four regions, the new business will be supported centrally.
Henkel CEO Carsten Knobel said: “We are now looking ahead – to the tasks that lie ahead of us in 2022 and the years beyond. We build on a clear strategy to generate purposeful growth and a strong team with highly motivated employees worldwide. We trust in our shared values, our culture, and our purpose to guide us. I am fully convinced that we will achieve our ambitious goals and successfully implement our Purposeful Growth agenda”.
Formed to drive growth and profitability, the merger will generate about €10 billion in sales, the company said.
