French dairy group Lactalis has announced the sale of its Lauki business in Spain and the acquisition of French cheese producer Graindorge.
According to an article in Revista Inforetail, the company expects negotiations on the Lauki business to start by 20th June 2016 and, thereafter, contacts with potential buyers to be made.
On top of the sale of Lauki, Lactalsis has also announced the acquisition of French cheesemaker Graindorge, a family business in the Normandy region, that specializes in products of Protected Designation of Origin (PDO), including semi-soft cheeses such as camembert. The company, which also produces thick cream products, has three production facilities and a turnover of around €50 million ($56 million) per year.
