Isigny Sainte Mere, a French dairy cooperative manufacturing products such as cream, butter, cheese and infant formula, has announced that it has entered into exclusive negotiations to acquire 90% of the shares in local biscuit manufacturer La Maison du Biscuit.
Founded in 1903, La Maison du Biscuit produces artisanal biscuits in Sortosville-en-Beaumont, in France’s Brittany region. The products are sold throughout France and online across Europe, including in Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain and Germany.
Isigny Sainte-Mere is a French dairy cooperative comprising 700 dairy farmers and 500 dairy farms.
Commenting on the proposed deal, Isigny Sainte Mere said: “Our values of tradition and quality are shared with [La Maison du Biscuit]. This acquisition will allow the cooperative to cement its place in Normandy, diversify its premium, and establish itself in new value-added markets”.
The transaction is expected to be completed at the end of May 2025. Financial terms have not been disclosed.
