Arla Foods, the Danish dairy cooperative, is making an investment in Finland to boost its manufacturing capacity in the country.

The firm has now fully acquired Massby Facility and Service, a property management company that services a dairy in Sipoo, near Helsinki, enabling it to take over production and office premises previously used by Unilever.

Arla is also planning to invest €11 million ($12 million) in a new snack production line, enabling it to manufacture a wider range of products. The plant’s current output includes cheese, yoghurt, curd, cream, sour cream, creme fraiche, and butter.

Commenting on the move, Arla Finland CEO Pia Jormanainen said: “We are happy to share investment news. Investments in Sipoo support the growth of our company’s business and strengthen our position in the Finnish market”.
