The Canadian arm of consumer goods giant Nestle has announced an investment of C$51.5 million ($398 million) to increase production capabilities at its ice cream factory on Wilton Grove Road in London, ON.
The factory, which produces ice cream for brands such as Haagen-Dazs, Parlour and Drumstick, will increase its current footprint by 836 sq m to create capacity for future growth. In a statement, Nestle Canada said that the expansion plans were expected to help the company to continue to innovate and bring new products to the market.
Commenting on the announcement, Nestle Canada business executive officer Jayne Payette said: “Our employees work hard every day to bring these great Made In Canada brands to our consumers and this investment allows us to bring even more exciting and innovative products to market”.
Groundwork has already begun with production planned to start from the beginning of 2019.
