French based dairy major Lactalis has announced plans to invest R$250 million ($41.7 million) to expand operations in Brazil’s Minas Gerais state.
The company’s presence in Minas Gerais includes factories in Antonio Carlos, Pouso Alto, Sabara, Guanhaes, Para de Minas, Sete Lagoas, and Uberlandia, as well as logistics centres in Contagem and its administrative headquarters in Belo Horizonte.
Commenting on the move, Lactalis Brazil CEO Roosevelt Junior added: “Minas is a state of utmost importance for our present, but also for our future where, working together with the government, producers and the entire supply chain, we will continue to grow and invest to generate more business for the company, but also more value for our entire dairy chain”.
Lactalis has invested R$736 million ($125 million) in Minas Gerais since 2020.
