Forno de Minas, the leader in the frozen pao de queijo segment in Brazil, has launched a new version of the Brazilian ‘cheese bread’ that targets health-conscious consumers.
Unlike conventional pao de queijo, Forno De Minas Fit Pao De Queijo is described as wholegrain, multigrain, free of lactose and gluten, and a source of protein, fibre and calcium.
Commenting on the launch, Forno de Minas president Helder Mendonça said: “We are looking to meet the needs of a diverse range of consumers, including those looking to marry good food with a busy lifestyle”.
The company’s research and development director Dalva Mendonça added: “We have analyzed the texture, flavour and the various requirements needed for this very exacting kind of consumer. We arrived at Fit Pao De Queijo, the most complete product of its kind and one that brings together, in a single product, all the attributes needed for a healthy diet”.
The product is available in packs of 300g with a retail price of R$12.98 ($3.64).
