Ferrara, the leading US sugar confectionery manufacturer and Ferrero subsidiary, has announced it has signed an agreement to acquire Dori Alimentos, a Brazilian sweets and snacks manufacturer, through its holding company CTH.
Dori Alimentos is a family-controlled company backed by an affiliate of ACON Investments with a brand portfolio that includes Dori, Pettiz, Jubes, Gomets, Deliket, Disqueti, Yogurte 100, and Bolete,
Commenting on the acquisition, Ferrara CEO Marco Capurso said: “We have a deep admiration for Dori’s products and their extraordinary team. We are excited to enter the rapidly growing Brazilian market and create opportunities for both Dori and Ferrara”.
Dori Alimentos CEO Pedro Lobo added: “We are thrilled to be teaming up with Ferrara and confident that it is the right partner for this next step in Dori’s incredible story. Like us, Ferrara places the consumer at the centre of everything it does, shares our spirit of innovation and believes in the emotional bond of sweets and snacks”.
Once the transaction is closed, Dori’s 3,100 employees will join Ferrara’s existing 4,600-strong team. The transaction is expected to be concluded in the fourth quarter of 2023.
