Australia: AB InBev acquires 4 Pines Brewery

Global beer giant AB InBev has announced the acquisition of Manly, Australia based craft beer maker 4 Pines Brewery for an undisclosed sum.

The purchase will see 4 Pines Brewery join other Australian brands that are under the Carlton & United Breweries umbrella in the country, including Victoria Bitter, Carlton Draught, Pure Blonde and Great Northern.

4 Pines will reportedly continue to operate from its Manly and Brookvale breweries, while embarking on new expansion plans.

Commenting on the move, Jan Craps, president of AB InBev’s Asia Pacific south zone, said: “4 Pines is a truly innovative business with a great range of beers, talented people and a genuine, values-driven culture which is incredibly important to us”.
