Mast-Jagermeister, the manufacturer of herbal liqueurs, has taken a stake in craft gin brand Gin Sul, according to a report in About Drinks.
Described as a Hamburg gin with Portuguese roots, Gin Sul features as a key botanical cistus ladanifer, a citrus-flavoured plant that is said to grow wild on Portugal’s Costa Vicentina. Described as one of Germany’s leading premium gin brands, Gin Sul is sold in white-coloured bottles and is currently available in 13 countries.
Commenting on the deal, Mast-Jagermeister managing director Michael Volke said: “Gin Sul is more than an exceptional dry gin in a distinctive bottle, it’s a nostalgic brand. This combination of authenticity and passion is rare and I am convinced is the key to Gin Sul’s success. I am certain that we will achieve a lot together, as well as having the chance to learn from each other”.
