US firm Patriot Pickle, a company by private equity firm Swander Pace Capital, has announced the acquisition of the pickle business from distributor Farm Ridge Foods.
Patriot Pickle, which is based in Wayne, New Jersey, manufactures and delivers a variety of refrigerated pickles, sauerkraut, and other pickled vegetable products around the US.
Farm Ridge Foods distributes pickle products under its own brand and third-party brands and private labels.
Bill McEntee, CEO of Patriot Pickle, said: “This is an exciting time to be a leader in fresh pickle manufacturing. The acquisition of Farm Ridge Foods is a key step towards rounding out and building up our internal retail sales capabilities. Fresh, refrigerated pickles are a key growth area for our retail and foodservice partners and we are excited to be able to better serve them more directly with this acquisition”.
According to sources, this acquisition will help Patriot Pickle add another retail brand to its portfolio with direct retail sales ability, strengthening its position in the pickle category and helping to bring more profit and growth to the company.
The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
