Global confectionery giant Mars Wrigley has announced the investment of $175 million in the expansion of its chocolate manufacturing facility in Kansas.
According to sources, the expansion plans include increasing the production of Snickers products as well as introducing two other confectionery bars to manufacture at the facility: Milky Way and 3 Musketeers. Additionally, it will include new equipment to improve the efficiency of the packaging process.
The investment, which will create 100 new jobs at the plant, comes to life not long after Mars Wrigley announced the 2024 closure of the original Mars plant, no longer than three months ago.
The construction has already started and it is estimated to be concluded by 2023.
