USA: HumanCo to acquire Against the Grain

Private holding company HumanCo has acquired a majority stake in grain-free foods maker Against the Grain, according to a Food Business News report.

HumanCo has a portfolio of plant-based and natural products such as Coconut Bliss ice cream, and Monty’s vegan cheese and speads

Against the Grain is specialised in grain and gluten-free frozen pizzas, bread, rolls, bagels, and baking mixes that are formulated with tapioca starch and buckwheat flour.

“As the newest brand to join our portfolio, Against the Grain is perfectly positioned to build on its impeccable reputation, while preparing for its next stage of growth”, said HumanCo co-founder Jason Karp. “As a family-owned business that leads with transparency and sustainability, Against the Grain is a great fit for HumanCo that will further accelerate our mission and growth”.
