China: Spar to partner with Guizhou Heli Supermarket Group

Global retailer Spar has announced a partnership with Guizhou Heli Supermarket Group, a retailer that operates over 100 supermarkets, shopping centres, and department stores in Guizhou, China.

The partnership has been in place since 1 July 2021 and will enable Spar to grow by expanding into Guizhou province, the company said.

The partnership will allow Guizhou Heli to continue focusing on the local market, whilst collaborating with Spar to create a world-class shopping experience featuring Spar’s multiformat strategy, throughout the 88 regions of Guizhou, it added in a statement.

Spar China chairman Wang Peihuan said: “We welcome Guizhou Heli Supermarket Group to join SPAR family. The new partnership marks another step to further grow Spar in China. We look forward to supporting Guizhou Heli in creating excellent shopping experience for customers, utilising home and abroad resources, strengths in large scale and supply chains, as well as our multi-format retail strategy”.

Spar has been operating in China since 2004, with a presence in Shandong, Guangdong, Beijing, Sichuan, Henan, Hebei, Yunnan and Guizgou.
