Australia: Patties Foods acquires Fitness Outcomes

Australian pie and pastry firm Patties Foods has announced the acquisition of the ready meal business Fitness Outcomes.

According to Inside FMCG, the addition will allow Patties Foods’ annual sales to reach around AUD $500 million ($387 million).

During the next two months, the production of the 20 refrigerated and frozen healthy ready meals will be moving to Patties Foods’ Packenham and Australian Wholefood sites, and afterwards the products will be sold at Coles stores, direct to consumers online and at fitness centres and gyms.

Paul Hitchcock, CEO of Patties Foods Group, said: “Fitness Outcomes will play an important role in catering to a new demographic and growing our sales in both the frozen and chilled meals categories”.

Patties Foods will be responsible for all sales, marketing, product development. The new brand will join Weight Watchers and Ruffle Rustic Foods brands in Patties Foods’ ready-to-eat portfolio.
