Australian agribusiness firm SPC has announced the acquisition of a majority stake in The Kuisine Company, an Australian manufacturer of frozen ready meals and appetizers.
The acquisition, which also includes wholly-owned brands such as The Good Meal Co, The Gluten Free Meal Co and, Simple Special, will allow SPC to expand as part of its strategy to become a global agribusiness, according to reports.
SPC CEO Robert Giles said: “By acquiring Kuisine we are continuing to grow our health and aged-care sector offering, which already has a strong base through our existing ProVital brand”.
Kuisine Co director Pran Gohil added: “We are proud to have built such a high-quality family-owned business that supplies customers throughout Australia. SPC is an ideal partner to drive the business forward into the next level of growth stage to deliver high-quality food to people in Australia and the rest of the world. We are looking forward to supporting SPC through this transition”.
