US retailer Target announced the launch of Smartly, a new lower-priced private label of everyday items, with most products retailing at less than $2.
According to a press release published by Target, the line consists of more than 70 SKUs of budget-friendly, effective and well-designed everyday products, such as hand soap, body lotion, household cleaners and razors.
Mark Tritton, executive vice president and chief merchandising officer at Target, said: “Smartly offers incredible value, looks great and most importantly, gets the job done. It broadens our assortment to give guests even more options to find the product that’s right for them, regardless of their budget”.
The new line might help the retailer to compete more aggressively against Amazon and Walmart online, whilst also competing with stores of discount chains such as Aldi.
Smartly will be launched in stores and Target.com on 14th October 2018, with prices ranging from $0.59 to $11.99, but most under $2.
